KANNAWIDAN

 

The province of Ilocos Sur has recently celebrated its Kannawidan Ylocos Festival. This year marks the province’s 193rd year based on the Royal Decree dated February 2, 1818 separating Ilocos Sur from Ilocos Norte. Prior to this date, the stretch of Bangui in Ilocos Norte down to Luna La Union is called Ylocos which is a term to refer to the coastal inhabitants. It literally meant “from the lowlands”.

  

There was the tribal performance of the cultural communities of Ilocos Sur which is so fascinating. They displayed their talents as well as their indigenous costumes. Partuat ken Patanor Trade Fair showcased the products of the province such as longanisa, bagnet, garlic, bibingka, tinubong and many other foods including handicrafts. There was even eating contests of these delicacies of Ilocos Sur as well as basi drinking contest. Traditional games were played and bingo as well. There were Sarsuela and Komedya Ilocana which were shown. Choir competition was also held.

MY MODERN NAME HERO

Everyone have their own hero on their own life. What is Hero all about? And for you who is your hero in your life? For me my hero is  no other than my mother. I choose her because she is loving mother, understanding and most of all very supportive mother. She is my hero because she sacrifice everything for my own needs. I' am very thankful because she is there always for me. She is my hero because she is my inspiration in my life. Because of her I will do everything for her and I will be study hard and I will do my obligation.

MY TEACHER,MY HERO

My teacher my hero, as I student for me I consider as my hero, my teacher.Our teacher is our second parents in our school. Without our teacher we cannot improve our studies and we cannot improve our daily work.Teacher is very important to us, as a student because of them we know everything and learn everything.
                         Because of them we can share our problems to them.And we can express our self to them. I am very thankful because I consider my teacher as my hero.and very thankful because of them I learn everything from them and gain knowledge from them.
